Nijo Castle, Kyoto. Unesco World Heritage site. In 1603 this is where the Tokugawa Shogun declared his sovereignty over Japan. The Tokugawa family Shogunate held power until the Modern Meiji era began in 1868. Unique squeaking "nightingale" floor.

About me
My name is Michie Taylor. I am a craft artist and member of the Pennsylvania Guild of Craftsmen. For the past 20 years my artist friends had been asking me to organize a tour to Japan, my native country. In response I've been taking friends and interested acquaintances on trips to Japan since 2005. I discovered I love to share my heritage and create special memories with fellow travelers. My husband and I have always been inveterate travelers. My goal is to introduce you to some of the places in Japan that have impressed and surprised me most.
